This place is great. My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights while doing a big eurotrip and this was easily our favorite place. The rooms are nice, quiet and so centrally located it's crazy! On top of that, the staff was so helpful with tapas/bar recommendations and making sure we got in even though our flight was hours late!.

Zoo Rooms was a great value for Barcelona. Great staff. Location was excellent - so close to restaurants, beautiful buildings, the metro; and not too close to the tourist madness on Rambles or in Gotic.

Zoo Rooms combines a bit of the hostel experience (a full kitchen and common areas) with that of a boutique hotel (large, modern, individualized rooms). The location was excellent for me as it had a better balance between locals and tourists than some parts of the city. Gaudi works and other great architecture are nearby, and there is a plethora of great places to eat at all times of the day. The more heavily touristed areas are about a 20 minute walk or short walk and metro ride. My room was comfortable, quiet, and kept cool by the air conditioning. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and there is a very affordable laundry service available. I didn't use the common areas much, and they were often empty including the roof deck. Wi-fi was good although I kept having to sign in again. Everything was kept very clean. The bathroom was large and nice; some might be annoyed at how long it took for the hot water to come on in the shower. Overall, it is a great value. If I return to Barcelona, I'd come here again.

We loved our stay. The room was lovely and clean, comfortable and secure.
The terrace was a perfect addition to the room and we loved spending time in the hammocks.
To be able to use the fridge and the lounge area was also really useful.
We really enjoyed our stay at Zoo Rooms and found it to be very close to a lot of the main attractions with many nice bars and restaurants close by.
We would really recommend it, we stayed in the double room with the terrace.
There was generally someone around to help answer questions, give advice and help you if needed which we weren't expecting and it was such a bonus!! We would definitely return!!

Very nice spot, surrounded by very nice restaurants and nice bars. Just a block away from downtown. Also there are lots of spots where you could have breakfast or coffee around. I can't exactly remember but the closest metro drops you directly at Barceloneta station where you could walk to the beach, and the bus just below the hotel takes you directly to the train station, also the Aerobus which takes you to the airport is around 2 km away.

This guesthouse is really nice, its situation is very central, close to all the important things to visit. The rooms are great!
A very big and beautiful terrass with hamacs and tables we could have our meals, it's really great!
Anna, the owner is a very nice person, she gave us many very useful advices about what to do in the region of Barcelona, she was always present when we needed something.
We can warmly recommend this charming guesthouse!

We chose this hotel based on the reviews here, and the information couldn't have been more spot-on. Myself, my husband, and our two kids (ages 12 and 6) stayed in the Zoo Suite for 2 nights. The room is very spacious for a family of 4, and very comfortable. We loved having our little balconies looking over the street. The bathroom is big by European standards and comes equipped with a very nice hair dryer (a treat for this girl traveling with her tiny hair dryer and plug adapter).
It was very helpful having a kitchen available. There are two markets nearby where you can purchase groceries, and each room is given a labeled shelf in the refrigerator to store their food.
Zoorooms is in an excellent location. The neighborhood is very nice, and you are steps away from many wonderful restaurants and lots of shopping. It is also an easy walk to many sights, including Las Ramblas, Gaudi buildings, and Sagrada Familia. Stations for public transportation are also very convenient to the hotel and easy to use. We took the train from the airport to Passeig de Gracia station and had an easy walk to the hotel.
While all these are wonderful reasons to stay at Zoorooms alone, the real reason to stay are your gracious hosts, Steve and Gabriella. Steve met us at the hotel, showed us around, and then proceeded to spend 15 minutes going over a map of Barcelona he provided us, pointing out good places to eat and explaining the best way to get to the places we wanted to go. Gabriella was kind enough to do a load of laundry for us, and was so friendly to our kids. We spent another 3 weeks in Spain after we left Barcelona, and every time we went to a new town our kids wanted to know if we were going to stay at Zoorooms again! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Barcelona.

If your travelling to Barcelona then ZooRooms is the place to be, it was very clean and tidy, also the guest house was very contemporary yet had some old features of a catalonian building. The location is literally walking distance from the main city centre of Barcelona, and next to a local supermarket and a local bar so your no more than a walk away to quench your thirst or buy some of the local produce. The host a very polite and helpful guy who gave us some tips and a map to set us on our way for sightseeing. if you want a good price, a perfect location and a homely place to stay on your Travels to Barcelona then id highly recommend zoorooms..
